6 Useful Tips for Using a Crack Filler Machine

Are you looking for the cheapest tools online? Then, being in this domain we can guide you about the same. Crack-filling machines are simple to use and ensure that you and your crew are

productive. But do you know how to use it correctly to get the most out of it?

If the answer is no, then read on to learn how to use a crack-filling machine correctly.

1. Make certain that the machine is set to the proper operating

temperature

One thing to remember is to set the machine to the proper melting temperature.

But what is the ideal melting temperature for crack filling? The ideal melting temperature for asphalt crack filler is 350°F. Anything above 400°F overheats the materials, causing them to lose their rubber content. RY10 has made it simple for users to keep track of the temperature of its contents.

The RY10 Elite units, for example, have a digital display in front of the operator that makes checking the temperature simple.

Save money by purchasing an RY10 crack fill Melter and a pallet of rubberized crack

filler. In contrast, the RY10 Pro has an easy-to-read glycerin-filled temperature gauge.

Simply adjust the regulator once the temperature exceeds 400°F to control fuel flow and prevent crystallization of the contents.

2. Apply the rubber crack filler correctly

Make sure you’re wearing safety gloves to protect your hands before loading the crack

filler. Next, carefully place the cube from the machine’s side or front.

The RY10 lineup has sloped sides, allowing the crack filler to lean toward the valving system rather than the operator.

The RY10s can accommodate two crack fillers at once, making them more efficient than competing machines.

3. Only use as much crack filler as you need

Rubberized crack fill is not cheap, so make sure you use a machine that will stretch

your supply.

Fortunately, the RY10 units have narrow shoes and do not dispense excessive

rubberized filler into the cracks.

If you want to save money and ensure that your crack fill supply lasts as long as

possible, don’t overfill the machine’s shoe.

However, if the shoe overfills (which can happen from time to time), you can always use a U-shaped or V-shaped squeegee to fix it.

4. Don’t forget to bring these extra tools

Always keep a Tiger Torch and an asphalt crack squeegee on hand when working.

The Tiger Torch can be used to burn vegetation, melt previously applied crack fill, and

clean crack filler buildup around the wheels.

When a blockage occurs, you can also use the torch to clean the valving system

5. Choose the Right Crack Filler

Crack filler can sometimes form a puddle on the spot and does not spread.

In the event of puddling, simply spread it out with a squeegee.

There are three types of crack filler available on the market right now.

Liquid crack fillers, rubberized direct-fire crack fillers, and oil-jacketed crack fillers or crack-banding machines are examples of these.

In residential properties, the water-based liquid crack filler is commonly used to fill narrow cracks.

This product is fantastic because it only takes three to four hours to dry and form a

water-tight seal.

Rubberized crack filler is melted inside direct-fire Melter applicators that are flame-heated.

It is ideal for contractors who service properties with large parking lots, roads, or driveways, such as strip malls, hotels, casinos, supermarkets, churches, and other similar establishments.

It’s one of the most widely used crack fillers on the market.

Municipalities, on the other hand, frequently use oil-jacketed crack fillers for road sealing.

These crack fillers should only be used in large pumper machines and should not be

used with direct-fire machines.

6. Improve Efficiency

If you want to increase the efficiency of your crew, we recommend forming a conga line. With this method, you have your designated cleaner brush the cracks to remove dirt.

The cleaner is followed by the person in charge of the blower.

Finally, the last person in this conga line is the worker operating the crack filling

Machine.
